Build 1.60.1.69913 keeps the class talent trees in the new talent data, not in the old talent table left over from Classic Era. The nine trees hold 469 talents and 1,327 ranks in 27 tabs. The old talent table still ships with 432 talents and 1,357 ranks, and it is the Era table: its 432 entries differ from Era 1.15.9.69722 only in the class field, which is zeroed.
Correction: until today our Forever talent calculator was built from the old talent table and showed the Era trees, and our build report called the 432 changed entries “a data layout change, not a talent tree change”. Both were wrong. The calculator, the class pages and the build report now use the new trees. Share links made on the Forever calculator before today decode to an empty build.
The 16-point milestone
Blizzard stated that the class trees keep the one-point milestone talents at 11, 21 and 31 points, “now joined by a new 16-point milestone” (Blizzard: Deep Dive Panel Recap, 2026-09-13).
The 16th point in a tab is the first point of tier 4, which opens at 15 points spent. In the Forever trees all 27 tabs have exactly one one-point talent in tier 4. In the old talent table, 0 of 27 tabs have a one-point talent in that tier.
| Class | Tab | Tier-4 one-point talent |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Arms | Spearing Strike |
| Warrior | Fury | Raging Blows |
| Warrior | Protection | Vanguard |
| Paladin | Holy | Divine Favor |
| Paladin | Protection | Swift Judgement |
| Paladin | Retribution | Sacred Arbiter |
| Hunter | Beast Mastery | Summon Hawk |
| Hunter | Marksmanship | Trueshot Aura |
| Hunter | Survival | Counterattack |
| Rogue | Assassination | Cold Blood |
| Rogue | Combat | Flawless Execution |
| Rogue | Subtlety | Premeditation |
| Priest | Discipline | Soul Warding |
| Priest | Holy | Binding Heal |
| Priest | Shadow Magic | Vampiric Embrace |
| Shaman | Elemental Combat | Call of Thunder |
| Shaman | Enhancement | Stormstrike |
| Shaman | Restoration | Mana Tide Totem |
| Mage | Arcane | Missile Barrage |
| Mage | Fire | Hot Streak |
| Mage | Frost | Ice Block |
| Warlock | Affliction | Curse of Exhaustion |
| Warlock | Demonology | Fel Domination |
| Warlock | Destruction | Conflagrate |
| Druid | Balance | Insect Swarm |
| Druid | Feral Combat | Mangle |
| Druid | Restoration | Swiftmend |
| Some of these carry a prerequisite that costs a point first. Mage Hot Streak | ||
| requires Pyroblast, so it is the 17th point at the earliest. |

Matching rule: per tab, a Forever talent matches an Era talent with the same rank-1 spell id (339 talents), otherwise one with the same spell name (8 talents). Anything left is counted as only in its source.
How we know
- Spells. Every one of the 469 talent spells exists in the build’s spell data; 78 of them are spell ids Era does not have, for example Genesis (1223081). Of the 1,357 rank spells the old talent table points at, 517 exist in the beta build and 840 do not. A Forever talent is one spell whose numbers scale by rank through per-rank value curves; all 360 multi-rank Forever talents resolve to per-rank text this way.
- Talent points. Each class tree spends one talent-point currency, maximum 51, one point per level from 10 to 60 plus five earlier points tied to the Legacy talent Talented, “Talented Rank 1 (Level 9)” to “Rank 5 (Level 5)”.
- Interface text. The beta has 89 interface strings for the new talent frame; Era has 25.
- Classic rules written into the new data: five points per tier as point gates, 70 prerequisite links in the nine trees (the old table has 65), and three tabs per class, each naming its spec skill line.
Defects in the data
Three entries in the new talent data are wrong in this build. Our export corrects for them, so the calculator does not show them:
- Hunter, Improved Serpent Sting: the talent’s grid position is off by a factor of ten. Its tier is taken from its point gate instead.
- Hunter Survival, Lightning Reflexes: the talent exists twice in the tab. The copy that sits off the grid is dropped.
- Priest Holy, Holy Specialization: the talent exists twice in the tab. The copy that sits off the grid is dropped.
Not verified in game
Nothing on this page was checked by spending points in the running beta. That the game draws its talent frame from the new talent data and does not use the old talent table is inferred from the data listed above. Nothing in the data points the other way.
Every changed row of this build: changelog 1.15.9.69722 → 1.60.1.69913.
Correction, 20 September 2026: the counts in this post used a rule that matched talents only within the same tree. Matching across a class’s trees finds 10 talents that moved rather than vanished, so the site now counts 357 matched (178 of them changed), 112 only in Forever and 75 only in Era. See what changed by class.
