What we publish

A database is easy. Not ruining someone's game is the hard part. This page says where we draw the line.

What you see, and how to change it

Every page on this site is written in full and then decides, in your browser, how much of itself to show you. You pick the level; it is remembered on this device and nowhere else. Nothing is sent to us, and nothing about your choice changes what other people see.

The four levels, lowest first. Each one shows everything the level above the line shows, plus its own:

  • Basics Names, maps and numbers only. Names, zone maps, level ranges, class, race and profession reference, item stats. Nothing that tells you what you will meet by playing.
  • Playing Everything you would ask a friend while playing. Quest text, objectives and rewards, drop tables, where an NPC stands, what a vendor sells and what a trainer teaches. The "I am stuck, help me" tier. This is the level you get if you never touch the control.
  • Everything The whole database, including what is ahead of you. Boss lists and encounter names, item set contents and set bonuses, the full list of what each build added.
  • Unannounced Content Blizzard has not announced. Off unless you ask. Nothing, on this site. Content that is in the game but has not been announced is held back entirely: it is not in these pages, not in search, not in the feeds and not on the home page, whatever this setting says.

Change it under You at the top of every page, or at the foot of this one. A covered block always says what it is ("Quest text", "Boss list", "Drop table") and has two buttons: Show uncovers that one block, and Show this kind from now on uncovers every block of that kind on the site from then on. Uncovering one block never changes your level.

Two honest limits. Covering is done by your browser, so with JavaScript turned off everything is visible: we would rather say that than half-hide a page and let a spoiler through a gap. And a cover is a cover, not a deletion. The words are in the page, so a screen reader and a page search still reach them. If that matters to you, read at Basics and open what you want.

Beside the spoiler control there is My level. Type the level your character is on and zone and quest lists mark the rows that are far from it, so a list of two thousand quests turns into the dozen that are about you. It only marks; nothing is removed, and you can switch it off in the same place.

What is confirmed and what is not

This site shows the whole game the beta build carries, all the way to level 60. The beta itself stops at level 20, so most of it is not something anyone has played. Every figure a reader might weigh carries one of two marks, and they mean different things:

  • Checked in game Somebody saw it in the game. We play the beta with our own in-game addon running and it writes down what the game showed us: trainers and their prices, who stands where, what dropped, what a vendor had in stock, which zones players were in. This is the part of the site a player can reach, which today means level 20 and under.
  • From the beta build It is in the beta build and nobody has played it. It is what the game will ship unless Blizzard changes it, and a beta build does change. Ranks, zones, dungeons, raids and talents above the cap are all of this kind: they stay on the page, visible and linked, wearing Beyond the beta cap where the level says so.

A third, smaller line: talent builds, tier opinions and poll answers are shared by the community. They are counted once each and are never presented as play data, as ours, or as a measure of what anyone is playing.

If a number here is wrong, tell us and it gets a correction like any other. Every record page carries the form, and it already knows which page and which build you were looking at.

Wrong number? Build 1.60.1.70009

Kept only with the box ticked, shown only if we publish the correction, and never used to contact you.

Sent with this page's address and build 1.60.1.70009, and nothing about you except a name you choose to put above. Privacy

Content Blizzard has not announced

Some things are in the game before Blizzard has said a word about them: a dungeon map with no post behind it, a boss name that only shows up in achievement text, a profession change nobody has mentioned. Finding it is not the same as being allowed to shout about it.

We hold that content back. It is not published with a warning label. It is not published at all: not in these pages, not in search, not in the feeds, not in the newsletter of a build report and not on the home page, and the Unannounced spoiler level does not turn it on: choosing that level only tells us you would want it if we ever released it. Each held item is written down with a reason, and it is released page by page when Blizzard announces it, not when it leaks somewhere else.

Where an absence would be confusing we say something is missing rather than pretend the page is complete. A dungeon whose boss list we are holding shows the dungeon and says the boss list is not published, the same as a section we simply do not have data for.

How a claim is labelled

A fact from the game's own build carries the build number it came from and no outside link; where a player running our addon saw it as well, it also carries Checked in game . Every other claim carries a link to where it came from and one of these labels. They are the same four flags you see on the pages, shown here exactly as they render:

  • Confirmed Blizzard said it: a post, a panel, the official site or forum. The link goes to the source, not to a site that copied it.
  • Reported The general community said it, and Blizzard has not. We say so in the sentence, so you can weigh it yourself.
  • We worked it out from the data, or it is community knowledge nobody has confirmed. Never written as fact.
  • Coming soon Data we do not have yet. The section stays on the page, empty and labelled, instead of being quietly dropped or filled with a guess.

What you will never see is a made-up row. A drop table with no drops in it says so; a boss list with no bosses in it says so. Wrong information is the one thing a site like this does not get forgiven for.

What play sessions contribute

Where an NPC stands, what actually dropped, what a vendor had in stock, how much experience a quest paid: that comes from players running our in-game addon while they play, and it is the part of the site we are strictest about. It is also the part that carries Checked in game (what is confirmed and what is not).

  • It is counted, never attributed. No character name, no account, no guild, no realm, no "seen by" line. There is no way to ask this site what any one person did, because we did not keep it.
  • A rate needs ten samples. Below ten attempts a drop row shows its counts and reads "sample too small" rather than printing a percentage we cannot stand behind. Every rate on the site is an estimate from the kills we watched, and it says so under the table.
  • The census is a shape, not a list. Who is playing is class, race, level and zone distributions over 554 players. Bars, no names.
  • You can see what is stored. The privacy page lists every key this site writes to your browser, the one cookie that keeps your class, level and spoiler settings, and exactly which statistics tool this build loads, if any. Nothing of that kind runs before you accept it.
  • What people ask for is read in aggregate. We read public community threads and posts, with an AI sorting them into what keeps coming up and how people feel about it. Nothing is quoted, nobody is named, no account is kept: it tells us what to build, never who said it (how we listen).

What we never publish

  • Exploits. A way to get through a wall, skip an encounter, duplicate an item or break a quest is not a guide, it is a bug report. It goes to Blizzard, not onto a page with a screenshot.
  • Tactics that wreck the economy for everyone else. We will tell you what a recipe needs and what a vendor charges. We will not write the "buy out the server" post; a fresh economy is more fun than an optimised one.
  • Anything that identifies a player. Names, characters, guilds, screenshots of other people's chat. Not in the database, not in a news post, not in a credit line unless the person asked to be named for their own find.
  • Other people's paid or private work. If a find is behind someone's paywall or in a private channel, it is theirs to publish.
  • Numbers we cannot show our work for. If we cannot say where a figure came from, it does not go on the page.

Credit

When a person finds something first, we name them and link them. "The data shows" is a comfortable way of taking someone's work and calling it a natural resource, and we are not doing that. If we have your find and your name is not on it, that is a mistake to tell us about, and the fix is a correction like any other. Everyone this site is built on is credited on the about page.

Corrections

When a page was wrong, the correction is published as news and says plainly what was wrong, for how long and what it should have said. Pages are not quietly edited into being right. The example to judge us by: until 2026-09-18 the Forever talent calculator showed the Classic Era trees. The correction post says so and shows the real ones.

Whose information this is

The game, its art and everything in it belong to Blizzard Entertainment. This is a fan site: it documents a game that is running, for people who are playing it, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard. We write down what the game shows us while we play it, we say which build we saw it in, and we keep back what has not been announced. Documenting the live game is the job. Getting ahead of an announcement is not, and if Blizzard asks us to take something down, it comes down.
