WoW Forever is its own game version, 1.60.1 in the beta, so no WoW Classic add-on is automatically compatible: check each one on its author’s page.
Add-ons go in the game’s Interface\AddOns folder, and you turn them on from the AddOns button on character select. The game skips add-ons marked out of date unless you tick “Load out of date AddOns”.
Forever also covers some add-on jobs itself: native gamepad support is an official feature, and the beta has Edit Mode, a Cooldown Manager (off by default, under Options > Gameplay Enhancement) and Discord Voice under Audio. - Download from the author’s official page or a trusted add-on manager. Check it says WoW Forever.
- Close the game.
- Open your World of Warcraft folder, then the folder for WoW Forever, then
