The full answer

Blizzard hasn’t published a recommended keybind layout for WoW Forever, so the best keybinds follow principles that work for every class. Put the abilities you press most on the keys your fingers reach without looking, and keep the same job on the same key on every character. Shift, Ctrl and Alt multiply your reach.

Change binds in the key binding section of the Options; we haven’t checked that path in Forever yet. On a gamepad it’s different: in the beta the Gamepad UI’s bindings are static, so rebinding changes keyboard and mouse only, and class flyouts hold forms, stances, auras and pets instead. • Same job, same keyInterrupt or defensive on the same key on every character, so muscle memory carries to your alts.
  • Use modifiersShift, Ctrl and Alt multiply every key you can reach. Shift+1 is closer than 9.

Best keybinds, by example: a Warrior bar

An example for a Warrior: three abilities on the number keys, the three stances on one modifier.

1Heroic StrikePressed most: easiest reach
2RendRotation, next to it
3HamstringSituational but urgent: still close
Shift+1Battle StanceStances grouped on one modifier
Shift+2Defensive StanceSame group, same modifier
Shift+3Berserker StanceSame group, same modifier
