Camping is a new open-world system in WoW Forever. Players craft campfires, place them in the world, and other players can rest at them, add profession-crafted objects to them, and take shared buffs from them (Blizzard: Deep Dive Panel Recap).
The core system is confirmed by Blizzard. The slot counts, buff durations and stacking rules below are from the general community and are marked as such. The campsite recipes, their skill levels, the Blueprint items and the Legacy perks come from build 1.60.1.69913; the full recipe lists are on the profession pages.
How a campsite works
A campsite starts from a crafted campfire. Nearby players can contribute objects made with their professions; each object adds an effect to the campsite that everyone resting there can use (Blizzard: Deep Dive Panel Recap).
According to the general community, a Basic Campfire supports 3 profession-crafted objects, and each nearby player can only contribute one object to a given campsite. A full basic campsite therefore needs three different players, or three visits from players with different objects.
Campsite sizes
| Campsite | Object slots | Unlock | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Campfire | 3 | Base | The general community |
| Upgraded campsite | 5 | Cooking upgrade | The general community |
| Upgraded campsite | 10 | Cooking upgrade | The general community |
According to the general community, the 5-slot and 10-slot campsites are unlocked through Cooking upgrades.
Game data from build 1.60.1.69913: Cooking has three campfire recipes in its Camping category:
| Recipe | Cooking skill | Taught by | Reagent | Creates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1, learned automatically | none | 1 Simple Wood | ||
| 90 | 1 Star Wood | |||
| 200 | 1 Thick Logs |
Matching the general community’s 5-slot and 10-slot campsites to the Journeyman and Expert Campfire recipes is our inference. The recipe data carries no slot count.
Buffs and camp food
According to the general community, campsite buffs last one hour and do not stack with the equivalent class buffs. A campsite that grants a stamina-type effect, for example, would not add to a class buff of the same kind; which specific buffs overlap is not listed.
Crafted camp food gives XP-boost effects. The example given is +5% kill XP for 15 minutes (Blizzard: Deep Dive Panel Recap).
Legacy perks for camping
The Legacy System has camping-specific perks (Blizzard: Deep Dive Panel Recap). Game data from build 1.60.1.69913: three talents in the Legacy trees name camps in their text:
| Talent | Tree | Ranks | Camping effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adventure | 3 | Cooldown on adding Camp features reduced by 8 / 17 / 25% | |
| Resourcefulness | 2 | Benefits from resting at a camp last 50 / 100% longer | |
| Resourcefulness | 1 | Tier 1 camping features cost no reagents to craft |
Permanence also extends long-duration class buffs, and Reagent Economy also removes vendor reagents from class abilities; see the Legacy System guide.
Profession campsite objects
Every profession gets three campsite objects, unlockable at different skill levels, with the first available at skill 20 (Blizzard: Deep Dive Panel Recap).
Game data from build 1.60.1.69913: 12 of the 14 profession skill lines have a recipe category named Camping, 39 recipes in total. Poisons and Comprehension have none. In 11 of the 12 the objects sit at skill 20, 140 and 300:
| Profession | Skill 20 | Skill 140 (Blueprint) | Skill 300 (Blueprint) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alchemy | Mana Well | Fermenter | Alchemy Laboratory |
| Blacksmithing | Sharpening Wheel | Anvil | Master Forge |
| Enchanting | Enchanted Lute | Arcane Salvager | Arcane Forge |
| Engineering | Reagent Bot | Repair Bot | Anarchist’s Workbench |
| First Aid | First Aid Kit | Toxin Study | Plague Doctor’s Laboratory |
| Fishing | Fish Bowl | Fishing Rack | Fishing Hut |
| Herbalism | Incense Candle | Greenhouse | Seed Hybridizer |
| Leatherworking | Camp Tent | Tanning Rack | Sewing Machine |
| Mining | Lodestone | Rock Garden | Molten Foundry |
| Skinning | Camp Chair | Field Guide | Trapper’s Workbench |
| Tailoring | Faction Banner | Spinning Wheel | Loom |
Tailoring has two skill-20 recipes named Faction Banner (spells 1229504 and 1263425). Cooking is the exception: besides the three campfires above it has Cookie’s Feast at skill 140 and Iron Oven at skill 300. Iron Oven is taught by an item named Blueprint: Baker’s Oven; the two names differ in the game.
Higher-tier camp objects are not taught by trainers. They are gated behind Blueprint recipes found in dungeons (Blizzard: Deep Dive Panel Recap; detail per the general community). In the beta build every skill-140 and skill-300 camp recipe, and the Journeyman and Expert Campfire, is taught by an item named “Blueprint: …”: 26 Blueprint items for 26 recipes, for example
Blueprint: Fermenter and
Blueprint: Alchemy Laboratory for Alchemy. The skill-20 recipes have no teaching item in the beta build.
Coming soon Which dungeon drops which Blueprint. Drop tables are decided server-side and are not in the beta build.
Recipe counts
Blizzard states 600+ new recipes across professions overall (Blizzard: Deep Dive Panel Recap). Build 1.60.1.69913 has 2,547 recipe spells across the 14 profession skill lines, 963 of them flagged as absent from Era 1.15.9.69722. 926 of those 963 are taught by a recipe item (Pattern, Plans, Recipe, Schematic, Formula, Blueprint or Manual), and 39 are the Camping recipes above. Blizzard’s figure is an announced total; ours counts every recipe spell in the beta build.
Reported profession changes
The following items are a community transcription of the developer deep dive, not verbatim Blizzard text. According to the general community:
- Alchemy: longer-duration elixirs and flasks, plus an upgradable trinket.
- Enchanting: ring enchants and craftable staves.
- Tailoring: increased cloth drops and embroidery bonuses.
- Herbalism: choices between magic resistance, rare lotus, and gathering rate.
- Mining: a 5% stamina buff plus a choice between extra ore or rare materials.
- Blacksmithing, Engineering, Leatherworking: unspecified new recipes; “Mixology” is mentioned.
No second community source corroborates the list above as of 2026-09-17.
What build 1.60.1.69913 contains on the Enchanting line: Enchanting has a Staves category with 4 recipes (Glimmering Staff and Soulstaff at skill 140, Dreamstaff and Radiant Staff at skill 225).
Observations from the game data
None of the following has been announced by Blizzard. Each is a reading of build 1.60.1.69913 and can change in any later build.
27 recipes shared with Era 1.15.9.69722 create a different quantity in this build. Examples: the twelve small, large and cluster rocket recipes in Engineering create 5 instead of 3; Fire Oil, Frost Oil, Shadow Oil and Stonescale Oil in Alchemy create 2 instead of 1.
What is not confirmed
- Whether campsites persist after the owner logs out, and for how long.
- Whether campsite buffs work in dungeons or battlegrounds.
- The slot count of each campfire tier in the beta build (the 3 / 5 / 10 figures are the general community’s).
- Any profession claim sourced from Project Epoch material. Epoch is an unaffiliated fan project, and profession information from its wikis or videos is not Forever information until Blizzard confirm it.
