Some enemies would rather disappear than finish the fight. Phantom Blade has something to say about that. This Rare One-Handed Sword requires level 44, and its chance-on-hit effect decreases the target’s armor by 100 for 20 sec. While affected, the target cannot stealth or turn invisible.
That is a distinctive bit of character for a crafted weapon: an edge that makes an opponent easier to hurt and harder to hide. In Forever, its revised handling gives you another reason to consider the trip to the forge.
Where it comes from
Blacksmithing makes Phantom Blade with 28 Mithril Bars, 6 Breaths of Wind, 8 Truesilver Bars, 2 Lesser Invisibility Potions, 6 Aquamarines, 4 Solid Grinding Stones, and 2 Thick Leather. There is a satisfying contrast in that shopping basket: even a sword built to frustrate disappearing enemies calls for a little invisibility of its own. Gather the materials, then let the work at the anvil bring them together.

What changed in Forever
The centerpiece is the swing speed: Classic Era’s 2.60 becomes 1.60 in Forever. Damage per hit moves from 59 - 111 to 36 - 68, so each strike is lighter, but the blade comes around sooner. Damage per second shifts only from 32.7 to 32.5. Read those changes together: this is a change in rhythm much more than a change in sustained weapon damage.
The slot also moves from Main Hand in Classic Era to One-Hand in Forever. That gives the sword more flexibility in where it belongs in your weapon setup. Rather than judging it by the smaller damage range alone, consider how its new placement fits the way you want to fight. The comparison rewards looking at the whole weapon, not just the hardest individual hit.

Who should chase it
Combat Rogues and Fury Warriors have good reason to give this blade a thoughtful look when choosing a melee weapon. Its armor-reducing effect suits physical attacks, while denying stealth or invisibility gives it a purpose beyond simply dealing damage. If you enjoy a weapon with a particular answer to an opponent’s escape, that personality is part of the appeal.
