Glimmering StaffA little shimmer for the road ahead

New in Forever, Glimmering Staff gives you something fresh to work toward between adventures. There is a particular pleasure in choosing a weapon before it ever reaches your hands: setting aside the materials, imagining the finished piece, and leaving room for it among your belongings. This Rare Two-Hand Staff is an item level 30 weapon that requires level 25.

With 11 Intellect and an equal amount of Stamina, it pairs a caster-friendly focus with a little staying power. Its appeal is straightforward rather than showy. If you enjoy a weapon that lets its attributes do the talking, this is a welcome reason to pause your travels and turn your attention to your next piece of equipment.

Where it comes from

Enchanting makes Glimmering Staff at skill 140, with the recipe taught by Formula: Glimmering Staff. For the craft, bring 4 Large Glimmering Shards, 2 Small Glimmering Shards, 4 Star Wood, a Greater Astral Essence, 5 Strange Dust, and 3 Pyrite. That is quite a collection to set out before the work begins, so give each ingredient its place. The satisfaction here starts with preparation, well before you have a finished weapon to take along on your travels.

Who should chase it

Arcane, Fire, and Frost Mages will find a natural fit here, as will Affliction, Demonology, and Destruction Warlocks. Shadow Priests, Elemental Shamans, and Balance Druids also have good reason to give it a closer look. For Discipline and Holy Priests or Restoration Shamans and Druids, it deserves consideration when you are choosing your equipment. Whether you prefer casting from a distance or tending to your companions, the choice should feel like yours, not simply another stop on a checklist.
