Spotted YellowtailA quiet meal with a spellcasting payoff

Some meals are worth sitting down for. Spotted Yellowtail is a Food & Drink consumable that restores 6960 health over 30 sec, and you must remain seated while eating. Spend at least 10 sec at the meal and you become well fed, gaining 22 Spell Damage for 15 min. That makes the pause part of its appeal: this is food for the player who likes a little preparation alongside their spellcasting.

You need level 35 to eat it, which puts it above the current beta level cap of 30. Treat it as something to look forward to rather than a meal for your adventures in the beta today. The appealing part is its combination of recovery and a spellcasting benefit, wrapped up in an ordinary plate of fish. When you reach the requirement, taking a seat becomes more than a moment to catch your breath.

Where it comes from

Cooking makes Spotted Yellowtail at skill 225, using a Raw Spotted Yellowtail as the reagent. Recipe: Spotted Yellowtail teaches you the recipe. If you enjoy preparing your own food, that gives you a clear goal: learn the recipe and bring the fish to your Cooking. There is something satisfying about knowing the meal you are looking forward to begins with a recipe you can learn yourself.

Who should chase it

Players whose spells deal damage have the clearest reason to take an interest in this meal. Its appeal is practical rather than flashy, especially if you enjoy giving preparation a place in your adventures instead of rushing straight ahead. Think of it as a choice for the spellcaster who appreciates a deliberate pause. The time spent sitting down is part of what makes the food worthwhile, not merely an interruption before the next stretch of the road.
