The beta build adds several new Blizzard unitframe files for combo point handling and listens for a new COMBO_TARGET_CHANGED event, which points to an update for druid and rogue combo systems in the default UI. Blizzard has not announced this yet and details may change. If you use addons, you may want to check the WoW Forever Addons guide for setup notes and future compatibility tips.
The filenames specifically reference combo point bars and target-bound combo elements for both druid and rogue classes, so the way combo points are represented in the default frames may change. Players interested in class specifics can review the rogue guide, the druid guide and keep an eye on the changelog for official updates.
What changed
The build introduces new combo point unitframe assets under Blizzard unitframes, including core combo frame files and separate combo point bars. New camelot entries include comboframe.lua and comboframe.xml, plus dedicated druid and rogue combo point bar XMLs and a targetboundcombopointbar.lua file. The mainline set gains new druid and rogue combo point Lua and XML entries as well.
At the same time, some older combo frame files in the mainline and camelot unitframe folders are removed, which suggests Blizzard is refactoring how combo point frames are put together for these classes.
How it seems to work
Interface code now listens to an event named COMBO_TARGET_CHANGED. That label suggests the UI may react when the unit associated with combo points changes, such as when a player switches targets, but the exact response is not confirmed.
The presence of a targetboundcombopointbar file points to combo point visuals that could be tied more directly to whichever unit is considered the combo target, rather than only to generic unitframe elements. The exact layout, timing and behaviour of these bars are not confirmed in this build.
What it could mean for players
If these changes continue in their current direction, they may affect addon authors and players who rely on clear combo point feedback while playing rogue or druid. Any UI elements that depend on the combo target could change how combo points are displayed during target swaps, but this is only suggested by the file and event names at this stage.
Until Blizzard documents the feature, it is safest to treat this as an ongoing UI update. Players who use class-specific tools or custom unitframes may want to watch for future notes in the changelog and class guides before assuming any particular behaviour.
