The September 24 beta update adds class-specific flyouts, five new Gamepad (Alpha) options and a set of fixes for playing WoW: Forever with a controller.
Blizzard still labels gamepad play as Alpha, and the September 22 build only fixed character selection and quest items for it; the September 24 notes are the first to change how the bars themselves work. Druids get a shapeshift flyout, Hunters and Warlocks get pet control and pet spell flyouts and keep their bottom action bar, Paladins get an aura flyout and Warriors a stance flyout. Edit mode layouts now apply while the gamepad UI is on, which they did not before.
The new switches sit in the Gamepad (Alpha) section of the game options:
- Use Compact Action Bar: shows only the action bar that is active at the moment.
- Fixed Party Targeting: in a party (not a raid), each direction on the pad selects one party member.
- Swap Target Modifier Sides: friendly targeting on the right, hostile on the left.
- Swap Friendly Target Action Sides and Swap Hostile Target Action Sides: swap the pad and face-button actions under each targeting modifier.
