The World of Warcraft: Forever beta opened on Thursday, September 17, 2026 and runs through October 21, 2026, the last full day of testing. The level cap is 20 at launch and will be raised to 30 later in the beta (Blizzard: Beta Now Live). According to the general community the raise to 30 comes “after a couple of weeks”; Blizzard has not put a date on it.
Testable in week 1: the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle starting zone, the Hall of Thanes (13–18) and Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20) dungeons, and all zone content up to level 20. More zones, dungeons, and the Darkspear Islands battleground open later in the beta (Blizzard: Beta Now Live).
Access: opt in on the WoW Forever site (invitations go out regularly, not guaranteed), buy the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection, or wait for the limited-time Server Slam. The $29.99 Skyborne Heroic Pack does not include beta access (Blizzard: Beta Now Live).
Blizzard’s Known Issues thread for September 17 lists, among others: Barber Chairs throw a Lua error, the Friends list is disabled, the Legacy System panel (Y) errors if opened before level 25, guild charters cannot be signed, and glancing blows are wrong for casters and melee (Blizzard: Beta Known Issues – September 17).
