Sometimes you want your spell to land with a little weight behind it. Mind Blast gives your Priest a direct burst of Shadow damage, with a warning that deserves your attention: it causes a high amount of threat.

This is Rank 1, an early ability with a deliberate rhythm. You commit to the cast, let the blast land, and choose your next move. In Forever, the change centers on the damage in its description, making this a familiar spell worth reading afresh.

How you get it

You learn Mind Blast as a Priest class ability at level 10. It becomes part of your spellbook early in your journey, giving you a chance to get comfortable with its cast and the pause between uses as you find your footing.

What changed in Forever

The description in Classic Era 1.15.9 gives Mind Blast 39 to 43 Shadow damage. In Forever 1.60.1, that becomes 37 to 41. Both ends of the damage range are lower, so the updated wording promises a smaller hit when you send that burst toward your target.

The threat warning survives the change intact. For you, that means reading the smaller damage range alongside the same caution about drawing attention. The comparison is narrow but meaningful: the damage description shifts downward, while the spell still asks you to think about the attention that follows the impact.

Who uses it

Shadow Priests will appreciate a spell built around their damage type. Discipline and Holy Priests also learn it as part of the class toolkit. Whatever your specialization, it suits moments when you want a direct damaging cast and are prepared to account for its threat.

Did you know?

  1. Each blast costs 50 Mana. That commitment begins before the damage lands.
  2. The 1.5 sec cast gives the hit a brief windup, rather than an immediate release.
  3. An 8 sec cooldown puts space between blasts. Make the moment count.
  4. Its 30 yd range lets you deliver the spell from a distance.
