The latest WoW Forever beta build adds a set of voice chat changes that point to more flexible handling of different voice providers and new Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text status messages. The new controls sit alongside the existing social features that many groups already rely on to clear dungeons and raids, and may matter to how players organise runs alongside choices covered in the class overviews. Blizzard has not announced this behaviour yet, so details may change before release.

Voice provider tracking and switching hooks

New interface text for “Switching to voice chat service: %s” suggests WoW Forever now tracks which voice provider is active and can show when it changes. That idea is backed up by new events for when the active voice provider changes, when the voice provider changes, and when voice chat audio capture stops, plus APIs to get, restore and set the active provider. Together, these pieces point to the game being able to react when the active voice setup changes and to keep players informed as they organise parties and raids.

A new helper function named Voice_GetChatChannelType and a fresh voice-related file for the vanilla-style Group Finder (blizzard_lfgvanilla_voicechat.lua) suggest this logic ties into group tools, so voice status may be surfaced when using older looking-for-group flows. This could help runs that are already planned through tools like the raid roster planner feel more coordinated when people join or leave groups.

Discord-aware settings and TTS / STT status

A renamed option that reads “Use Your Discord Settings” and a new C_Discord.IsVoiceEnabled call point to the game checking whether Discord-related voice options are enabled and possibly aligning some behaviour with that choice. New APIs such as C_VoiceChat.GetActiveVoiceProviderID, C_VoiceChat.RestoreActiveVoiceProvider and C_VoiceChat.SetActiveVoiceProvider support the idea that multiple providers may be involved, even if the exact flow is not clear yet.

Two new messages, “Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text enabled” and “Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text disabled”, indicate that players may see clear status feedback when these accessibility-style features are toggled on or off. That may be useful for groups who like extra audio or visual assistance while planning content in the beta overview or reviewing their setups alongside community builds.
