Blizzard’s September 24 beta update changes the Warrior in six lines (a Sunder Armor threat fix, a Protection talent swap and four Arms changes) and adds one line for the Rogue and two for the Warlock.
Arms gets the numbers:
Bloodthrill activates 4/8/12/16/20% of the time (was 2/4/6/8/10%) and only off Main Hand melee attacks,
Cleave and
Heroic Strike included;
Slam has an 18 second cooldown (was 15) and
Improved Slam now cuts it by 1.5/3 seconds (September 24 development notes). In the Protection tree,
Bastion (Row 5) and
Focused Rage (Row 6) swap places, which Blizzard’s note explains as giving Focused Rage sooner while leveling before
Shield Slam, and
Sunder Armor gets corrected threat values on every rank with a small increase to the threat from Attack Power. The Rogue line is a PvP flag fix for
Sap; the Warlock lines are a
Life Tap tooltip correction and the Voidwalker’s
Sacrifice now scaling with 10% of the Warlock’s spell healing. When this post was written, our spell pages and the Warrior talent trees were on build 1.60.1.69913, and Bastion and Focused Rage still sat in their old rows and Improved Slam still showed its older effect there.
What to do: if you play Arms with Rend on the target, Bloodthrill’s Overpower activations now come only from Main Hand swings, Cleave and Heroic Strike, at double the old chance. Protection players find Focused Rage one row earlier in the beta tree. A Rogue who Saps a PvP-flagged target is now flagged too, and a Warlock can read the exact Life Tap conversion on its tooltip.
The changes at a glance
Sunder Armor: threat values corrected on all ranks, with a small increase to the threat from Attack Power.
Bastion and
Focused Rage (Protection): positions swapped, Row 5 and Row 6.
Bloodthrill (Arms): chance to activate 4/8/12/16/20% (was 2/4/6/8/10%); only Main Hand melee attacks activate it,
Cleave and
Heroic Strike included.
Slam (Arms): cooldown 18 seconds (was 15).
Improved Slam (Arms): now reduces Slam’s cooldown by 1.5/3 seconds.
Sap (Rogue): now correctly flags the Rogue for PvP when used on a PvP-flagged target.
Life Tap (Warlock): tooltip now shows the amount of Life converted and says only that it scales with Spirit.- Voidwalker
Sacrifice (Warlock): now correctly scales with 10% of the Warlock’s spell healing.
