Shield BlockA little longer behind the shield

There is a particular comfort in raising your shield and knowing you have a little more room to stand your ground. Shield Block brings that feeling to Forever with a defensive effect that lasts longer and covers more attacks than before. The change is straightforward, but it gives you more breathing room when you choose to brace.

This Warrior ability increases your chance to block for a limited time and a limited number of attacks. It is Instant and costs 10 Rage, making the moment you press it part of the decision: you choose when to put that defensive window to work.

How you get it

You learn Shield Block as a Warrior class ability at level 16. It is a moment worth making familiar: learning the ability is the beginning, while getting comfortable with the feel of raising your guard is something you bring to each fight.

What changed in Forever

In Classic Era, Shield Block increased your chance to block by 75% for 5 sec, but would only block 1 attack. In Forever, that same increase lasts 7 sec and will block 2 attacks. Both the duration and the attack allowance have grown, giving the ability more room to do its work.

For you, the important distinction is that the effect has both a time limit and an attack limit. The longer duration gives you more time for incoming attacks to meet your guard, while the expanded allowance keeps the effect from being spent on the first block. Those changes work together rather than simply stretching the clock.

Who uses it

Protection Warriors will feel right at home with an ability built around blocking incoming attacks. Arms and Fury Warriors also learn it, and can reach for it when the moment calls for a defensive response. Whatever your specialization, this is a button for choosing when to brace rather than leaving the moment entirely to chance.
