Some spells ask you to aim. This one asks your party to commit. Ritual of Doom begins a ritual to summon a doomguard, and its arrival is no invitation to relax. You must immediately subjugate the demon or it will attack the ritual participants.

This is a Channeled spell with a cost of 100% of base mana and a 1 hr cooldown. Those are substantial commitments for a spell whose most urgent moment comes when the summoning finishes. The appeal is unmistakable: a little ceremony, a dangerous arrival, and the responsibility of making sure that arrival goes your way.

How you get it

Warlock learns Ritual of Doom as a class ability at level 60. That puts it above Forever’s current beta level cap of 30, so this is a spell to look ahead to rather than use in the beta today. Its place is farther along your character’s journey.

Who uses it

Affliction, Demonology, and Destruction Warlocks can all look toward this ability. It suits the player who enjoys the deliberate side of spellcasting, where getting everyone ready matters as much as the moment you begin. You are taking responsibility for a shared undertaking, not simply choosing another spell to cast. For a Warlock who likes a touch of danger in the ceremony, that is part of its character.

Did you know?

  1. The ritual sacrifices a random participant. Nobody taking part gets to choose who pays that particular price.
  2. Completion requires the caster and 4 additional party members. This is not a solo performance.
  3. Every participant must right-click the portal and remain still until the ritual is complete. Once you join, give the ceremony your undivided attention.
  4. The spell has a 30 yd range. Even a ritual with this much presence has its reach.
