Standing your ground is satisfying. A talent called Reckoning fits that mood neatly, but its new description deserves a careful read before you decide where it belongs in your build.

This Paladin talent connects an extra attack to blocking a melee attack or suffering a non-periodic critical strike. The change is about the conditions attached to that response as much as the chance of receiving it.

How you get it

You learn Reckoning through the Protection talent tree. Your starting point is your own build: settle into those talent choices, read the description closely, and consider how the talent’s defensive theme fits the way you like to approach a fight.

What changed in Forever

In Classic Era 1.15.9, Reckoning gave you a 20% chance to gain an extra attack after being the victim of a critical strike. Forever 1.60.1 adds blocking a melee attack as a condition, with a 0% chance to gain an extra attack. The critical-strike condition becomes specifically non-periodic, also with a 0% chance.

That is a meaningful distinction when you compare the descriptions: the defensive event has another route, while the critical-strike wording becomes more precise. Read those conditions together with their chances when weighing the talent. Rank 1 has also been removed, giving Reckoning a change to its rank designation alongside the rewritten effect.

Who uses it

Protection Paladins are the natural audience for a talent with this defensive character. If you enjoy standing firm and meeting an opponent head-on, Reckoning’s theme speaks your language. Let that appeal bring you to the talent, then let the details guide your decision.
