Before you loose an arrow, give your target something to remember you by. Hunter’s Mark is a Hunter ability that places a mark on your chosen target, setting the stage for the ranged attacks that follow. It is a small opening gesture with a clear purpose.
This is Rank 2, with an Instant cast and a cost of 30 Mana. You can make that opening gesture without waiting for a cast to finish, then turn your attention to the fight itself.
How you get it
Hunters learn this class ability at level 22. If you are working your way through the class, that is the point to watch for this rank. Make room for it among the abilities you reach for when choosing your next target.
What changed in Forever
The comparison between Classic Era 1.15.9 and Forever 1.60.1 comes down to a meaningful change inside familiar wording: the Ranged Attack Power bonus rises from 45 to 59. For you, that means a stronger bonus against the marked target, delivered through the same straightforward act of marking it.
That benefit belongs to all attackers making ranged attacks against the target, rather than to the Hunter alone. The mark gives your choice of target a shared payoff. When ranged attackers turn their attention to the same enemy, your opening move contributes to their attacks as well as your own.

Whatever your specialization, there is something satisfying about making that choice first and following through with your shots.

Did you know?
- The ability has a 100 yd range. Your opening mark can reach well ahead of you.
- Stealth and invisibility do not hide the marked target from the hunter. A disappearing act does not end your view.
- The target also appears on the mini-map. The mark gives you another way to follow its position.
- The effect lasts for 2 min. That opening gesture has some staying power.
