Bane of Agonyfamiliar words, a different name

sometimes a spell catches your attention before you ever cast it. different wording is enough to make you stop, read carefully, and look again at something you thought you recognized. Bane of Agony is Rank 3, with a 3 sec cast, and its name takes center stage in Forever.

there is a particular pleasure in learning the language of your spells. names become familiar companions along the way, so a changed heading deserves a moment of attention. here, that moment begins with the words at the top.

How you get it

What changed in Forever

in Classic Era 1.15.9, the name was Curse of Agony. in Forever 1.60.1, it is Bane of Agony. that gives you a straightforward connection between the before and after sides: if you remember the former wording, the latter is the name to recognize here.

the shift from “Curse” to “Bane” is small enough to read at a glance, but distinctive enough to catch a returning player’s eye. when you compare the entries, follow that wording across rather than letting familiarity carry you past it. recognizing an old entry under a new heading is its own little moment of discovery.

Who uses it

if you enjoy taking time to get acquainted with your spells, this entry rewards a careful read. there is room for that quieter kind of attention alongside the excitement of learning something new: pausing over a tooltip, noticing its language, and letting the details settle before moving on.
