Blizzard’s September 24 beta update lists 23 quest fixes across 11 zones, most of them respawn timers in the starting zones and credit bugs in the Skyborne quests on Zephras Isle.
Elwynn Forest gets nine of the 23 lines: faster respawns for the murloc camps around Crystal Lake, for Shinyfinder Narf and for Nimsy, more crates and supply spawns for “Stolen Enchanting Supplies”, and the candles taken out of Jasperlode Mine and Fargodeep Mine, which Blizzard says were more deadly than intended for solo players (September 24 development notes). Dun Morogh, Durotar and Mulgore each get a respawn fix of their own, and Silithus loses Khonsu’s arrival for the beta phase, to return later in Blizzard’s words. On Zephras Isle, “Catching Wind” has been redesigned with new spawns at the Overlook Standing Stones, and “Wounds of Betrayal” and “A Firm Response” now grant credit.
What to do: the zone pages linked here hold each area’s level range, subzones and map, and the atlas shows where Crystal Lake and the two mines sit inside Elwynn Forest. Dungeon quests that could be shared, and handed the receiving player a quest item, are no longer shareable.
The fixes by zone
- Dalaran: faction adjustments; spawns now stand just outside the city entrance.
- Dun Morogh: the Snow Leopard Prowler respawns much faster; the rifle for “Treacherous Cold” can be looted again.
- Durotar: the escort NPC for “Lost in the Shadows” respawns sooner.
- Elwynn Forest: “Book Return” removes the extra Book Bag on completion; more crates and supply spawns for “Stolen Enchanting Supplies”; the murloc camps around Crystal Lake, Shinyfinder Narf and Nimsy respawn faster; Mother Fang respawns a bit more slowly and does not always drop a green item; Shinyfinder Narf’s quest item can be looted by the whole party; skinning can be learned from Helene Peltskinner while on a quest with her; the candles are gone from Jasperlode Mine and Fargodeep Mine.
- Mulgore: Water Pitchers for “A Humble Task” respawn faster.
- Silithus: Khonsu’s arrival is out of the beta phase.
- Silverpine Forest: Pyrewood Village worgen respawn faster.
- Teldrassil: “Bounty: Gnarlpine Furbolg” asks for 15 (was 20).
- Undercity: the Skyborne quest “Exploring the Horde” completes the talk with Lady Sylvanas Windrunner.
- Westfall: the Defias Messenger spawns more often.
- Zephras Isle: “Catching Wind” redesigned, with spawn changes at the Overlook Standing Stones in Shen’dar Highlands; the druids of Nightclaw Cavern give credit for “Wounds of Betrayal” when healed; “A Firm Response” grants credit.
- Dungeon quests that were shareable, and gave the receiving player a quest item, are no longer shareable.
